Meet our Technician

Our Steinway technician and restorer brings more than 20 years of experience and artistry to each piano he works with, and a background that enables him to offer comprehensive piano care ranging from full restoration to the finest adjustments of regulation and tone. Trained in the NY Steinway concert tradition, he is at ease with concert preparation of pianos and specialized tuning projects like duo or multi-piano blending.

A passion for piano technology began in his youth as he watched a local technician at work, and was further confirmed with a chance visit to the workshop of innovative piano builders Stuart & Sons (Australia). He went on to complete piano technology studies at the prestigious New England Conservatory School of Piano Technology (Boston, MA), where projects included complete disassembly and exacting restoration of Steinway pianos.

His professional career took him to Steinway New York’s flagship showroom at Steinway Hall, where he specialized in refined tuning, tone and action regulation, and addressing all aspects of piano maintenance and care for almost a decade. At Steinway NY, his mentors included legendary Assistant Chief Concert technician Alex Markovich.

A move to Southern California saw a shift to concert-level restorations of rare and heirloom Steinways and other fine pianos in partnership with the The Piano Shoppe Inc. (Monrovia, CA) for more than a decade.

Now based in Central California, our technician serves clients throughout the state for maintenance and service, and worldwide for restoration projects, is certified for Steinway Spirio service. His clientele include professionals and amateurs alike, and comprise internationally known performers and composers, universities and conservatories, recording studios and concert stages.

He is known for his meticulous standards and ability to customize pianos to artists’ preferences, while bringing out the best possible tone to suit the performance space.
